Suffolk Phoenix Brass Ensemble thoroughly enjoyed performing at St Peter’s Church, Thorington, Suffolk

The ensemble had a warm welcome at the Fete, and enjoyed performing for an energetic and captive audience. We were all made extremely welcome and loved the sandwiches and refreshments provided by Jayne, and the warm welcome from Liz and the organising team.

The music played included: Eye Level (short excerpt below), Spanish Flea, Allo-Allo Theme, Liberty Bell March, Elgar’s Chanson de Matin, and Prokofiev’s ‘Wedding of Kije’.

  • Carol Rudkin (Flugel) and Gordon Connar (Tenor Horn)

  • Richard Atkins (Trombone) and John Lindley (Tuba)

  • Glen Relf (Percussion).

After a successful career spanning four decades in music, commerce, and education, and following his retirement as an Education Consultant in 2017, Lawrence has resumed his focus on music composition, and orchestral conducting.
